About Me
Professional Qualifications
I have a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy and am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and Psychotherapist registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS), Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). As a registered member, I abide by the code of ethics set out by these organisations.
Clinical Experience
I have over 15 years experience, working with adults in the NHS, charitable organisations and in private practice. In my work in the NHS I specialised in perinatal mental health offering psychological support to individuals who have experienced, pregnancy loss, birth trauma and postnatal depression. I am currently working in a primary care NHS service offering short term psychotherapy to individuals and couples.
As an Integrative Counselling Psychologist and Psychotherapist, I draw upon a variety of psychological approaches to suit the individual needs of each client. I value the importance of the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and client to provide a safe space to explore both past and present experiences. It is through this exploration that individuals can gain a greater understanding of themselves and their relationships to bring about change.
Clinical Supervision
In addition, I also offer clinical supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists who are either in training or working towards accreditation or who have qualified and are working in clinical practice.
